Very Good
The view of the dorm is absolutely stunning and the beds are super comfortable! If you aim for a quiet stay at the Laguna, then it's a great hostel.
The kitchen was quite dirty and the breakfast was very very limited.

Amazing friendly hostel with super comfy beds
I loved this hostel... I extended my stay. The staff are fantastic and really helpful. The location is about 15-20 mins from town or a short taxi/bike ride. The beds are the best I’ve slept in for a while and the hostel is nice and clean. I did a morning paddle board with blue monkey hostel closeby which is an absolute must-do! The hostel is just on the lake so the perfect spot to kayak/swim or chill. It’s also around a 15 min walk to cocolitos which is a great swimming area.
Fix the oar for the second kayak - it’s so simple and would go a long way with people staying! Other than that it was perfect.

Awesome
I loved the fact that the hostel was next to the lakeside and you could see the sunrise from the windows. The beds were also more stylish than typical dorm beds. The breakfast was simple and nice.
It was a bit far from the city center.

What would you highlight about Xibalba Bacalar
A place with a great view to the lagune and international environment.
What we liked the most was the private bedroom that has a great view of the lagune. The bedroom was small but enough to spend couple of days. However, the bathroom was pretty big. We also borrowed the kayak, it was super fun. There were many internationals which we talked to at our breakfast.
The breakfast is really basic, just fruit and bread. The night in which we stayed there were other guests at the property's pontoon at the lagune, making a lot of noise because they were drinking and playing music. We kindly asked them to turn it down and they did it but I think that the property should be clear on this matter to avoid any discomfort to the guests. We were paying almost 100 dollars per night to be disturbed in this sense by them. Luckily, they understood and the noise was down so we could sleep.
